“What is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the rooftops.”
Jesus’ words in Matthew 10:27 could be taken as a license to spew the latest gossip or to play kickball on the roof. But this was not about getting on top of the house or even sharing secrets.
This was a command to his disciples to SPEAK what they had SEEN…
This was a demand to his followers to PROCLAIM what they had PRACTICED…
This was an order to his friends to EXCLAIM what they had EXPERIENCED…
The message was Jesus Christ. The mandate was to tell the world. And, long story short, they obeyed. The first disciples went everywhere declaring the Gospel (1 Thessalonians 2:9). What they heard from Jesus is exactly what they boldly shared with the world. Their obedience to this simple command birthed the church and ultimately changed the entire course of human history.
Following such a tradition, Broadcast Student Movement exists to impart this charge to students and families:
KNOW Christ; Make Christ KNOWN.
Like a Broadcast tower; GET the signal; GIVE the signal.
A broadcast tower cannot transmit a signal it hasn’t first received, and a person cannot spread Jesus if the love of Christ has not been spread out in his or her heart. But the Holy Spirit has revealed the wonderful news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our hearts, so the only right response is to proclaim it “from the rooftops.”
Come and be a part of our humble movement devoted to broadcasting the good news of Christ all over—from the high school to Sudan; from the Upstate to Uganda; from the living room to Liberia. Join us in doing your best Broadcast-Tower impersonation, saying with the Apostle John, “that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you.” (1 John 1:3)
