Because I trust the teaching of Scripture to be truth from God, I believe that Jesus Christ was sent from heaven to die on a cross for my sins. In response to His resurrection from the dead and His claim to be the only way to heaven, I have personally placed my faith in Him to be my Savior and Lord.
Because my relationship with Jesus connects me to all others who follow Him, I recognize my need to be part of a church where I can celebrate and serve God with other Christians. Therefore, through this covenant I outwardly demonstrate my inner commitment to the body of Christ which is the church. By God’s grace I make the following vow as a member of HopePoint Community Church:
- To grow in my relationship with Christ, I will meet with Him often in Bible study and prayer.
- To grow in my relationship with the body of Christ, I will attend most worship services unless prevented by reasonable circumstances.
- To display the beauty of Christ, I will use my gifts to serve Him with kindness and excellence.
- To spread the hope of Christ, I will watch for opportunities to help unbelievers understand and receive the love of God.
- To support the work of Christ, I will make regular financial contributions that reflect God’s blessings in my life.
- To honor Christ publicly, I will avoid activities and attitudes that would shame His name before a watching world.
- To honor Christ privately, I will recognize and turn from sin rather than harbor and hide it.
- To honor Christ through unity, I will avoid language and actions that lead to division in the church.
- To honor Christ through humility, I will accept correction from the church if my beliefs or behavior should cease to be approved by Scripture.
